Odie Themes has published free, GPL-licensed themes on the official WordPress.org directory since 2019. Now we also build free tools for the jobs WordPress makes unnecessarily hard.
Most WordPress content exists to sell you something at the end — a host, a plugin, a course. That changes what a page is willing to tell you. A site funded by hosting referrals will never quite explain that your slow site is slow because of the theme, and a plugin's blog will never quite conclude that you don't need the plugin.
We have been publishing free themes on WordPress.org since 2019 — 5 of them are still there, still free, still GPL. The install counts and star ratings quoted anywhere on this site are the numbers WordPress.org reports, and you can go and check them.

No affiliate money
Hosting referrals are the highest-paying revenue in WordPress. Taking them would quietly change what we are willing to tell you about performance. So we don't.
Nothing leaves your browser
Image and config tools process everything client-side. Open your network tab while you use one — you will see nothing go out. That is a claim you can verify, not one you have to trust.
Real numbers only
No invented install counts, no fabricated reviews, no round-number flourishes. Every figure on this site can be checked against WordPress.org.
