What it does to a flat graphic

Scope

Use a higher quality for large sizes onlyKeeps thumbnails small while protecting the full-size image. This is the setting most sites actually want, and almost no tutorial mentions it is possible.

Only affects images uploaded AFTER the filter is active. Existing images keep the quality they were encoded at until you regenerate them. And note the preview above is your browser's JPEG encoder, not your server's — the artefacts are representative, the byte counts are not.

Quale qualità JPEG usa WordPress di default?

82. Ogni JPEG che carichi viene ricodificato a quella qualità, e così ogni dimensione derivata che WordPress ne genera. È un default ragionevole per le fotografie e visibilmente scarso per screenshot, logo e grafiche piatte — questi hanno bordi netti e nessun rumore fotografico in cui nascondere gli artefatti di compressione.

Dovrei impostare la qualità JPEG a 100?

No. Oltre il 92 circa stai comprando dimensione del file più che qualità visibile, e 100 può triplicare il file per una differenza che nessuno noterà. Se le tue immagini sono screenshot o grafiche di UI, 88–92 è l'intervallo sensato.

Cambiare questo sistema le immagini che ho già caricato?

No. Il filtro si applica alle immagini elaborate dopo la sua attivazione. Le immagini esistenti mantengono la qualità con cui sono state codificate finché non le ricarichi o rigeneri le miniature con un plugin o con 'wp media regenerate'.
