wp-config.php can raise WordPress's own memory limit, but it cannot raise PHP's upload_max_filesize — that is a PHP directive, not a WordPress one. If your host locks PHP settings, no amount of wp-config editing will change the upload cap, and you will have to ask them.

Vragen

Ik heb upload_max_filesize verhoogd en er veranderde niets. Waarom?

Omdat WordPress de KLEINSTE van drie waarden gebruikt: upload_max_filesize, post_max_size en memory_limit. Eén verhogen terwijl een andere laag blijft verandert niets. post_max_size moet groter zijn dan upload_max_filesize, want de request-body draagt het bestand plus het formulier eromheen.

Kan wp-config.php de uploadlimiet verhogen?

Slechts deels, en hier lopen veel mensen op vast. wp-config.php kan het memory limit van WordPress verhogen, maar upload_max_filesize is een PHP-directive die PHP meestal al klaar is met inlezen tegen de tijd dat WordPress laadt. Als je host de PHP-instellingen vergrendelt, zal geen enkele wp-config-bewerking de limiet veranderen.

Mijn host laat me php.ini niet bewerken. Wat nu?

Probeer een .user.ini-bestand in je webroot — veel shared hosts lezen het. Als dat ook niet lukt, wordt de limiet boven je account afgedwongen en kan alleen je host het wijzigen. Vraag het ze; het is meestal een ticket van één regel.
